Treehouse TeacherHi there! Thought I'd add my two cents here. Both gentlemen are partially correct. The code posted in the original post would only select the fourth item and nothing else. It wants every fourth item to be selected. However, it wants this to start with the first item so no offset is needed.
Andrus Suve is spot on when he says that the space is too much. Generally speaking, CSS isn't that picky about white space. But this is one of those occasions when it is, and having a space between the colon and the nth-child and even the space between the nth-child and open parentheses will cause an error.
The line you're looking for should look like this:
#gallery li:nth-child(4n)
Hope this helps!

18,199 PointsI believe the proper syntax for what they're asking "every 4th list item in the element" is -
#gallery li: nth-child (4n+4)
4n
is the cycle amount and the +4
is the offset value.
This will continue to to select every fourth list item forever until it runs out of list items. Your current selector is only selecting the 4th list item alone.
Hope this helps.
