Hello Finlay,

Awesome job! You only had some small typos by leaving out a brace } to close your isInvalidWord if statement and using too many parenthesis () for your equalsIgnoreCase. I commented your code with the fixes and it compiles and runs great.

       import java.io.Console;

      public class TreeStory { //open class

      public static void main(String[] args) {//open main
      Console console = System.console();
      /*  Some terms:
      noun - Person, place or thing
      verb - An action
      adjective - A description used to modify or describe a noun
      Enter your amazing code here!
      */
      String ageAsString = console.readLine("How old are you?  ");
      int age = Integer.parseInt(ageAsString);

        if (age <8){//open if 1
         // ad system exit code
          console.printf ("Sorry you have to atleast 8 to use this program.\n");
          System.exit (0);
        }//close if 1

        String name = console.readLine("Enter a name:  ");
        String adjective = console.readLine("Enter an adjective:  ");
        String noun ;
        boolean isInvalidWord;

        do {//open do
          noun = console.readLine("Enter a noun:  ");
          //You had too many ((((( ))))
          isInvalidWord = noun.equalsIgnoreCase("dork")
                          || noun.equalsIgnoreCase("jerk")
                          || noun.equalsIgnoreCase("idiot");

       if (isInvalidWord){//open  if 2
              console.printf ("Sorry you are not allowed to use that language.\n---------------Try again---------------\n");
       }//forgot to close if 2

      } while (isInvalidWord) ;//close do

      String adverb = console.readLine("Enter an adverb:  ");
      String verb = console.readLine("Enter a verb ending with -ing:  ");

      console.printf ("-----------Your Story----------- \n");
      console.printf ("%s is a %s %s.    ",name, adjective,noun);
      console.printf ("He is always %s %s.",verb,adverb);
      }//close main
    }//close class
