Can you provide more context? Are you in the REPL?

If you are in the REPL with a >>> prompt, then each line of code is immediately executed unless it is part of a complex statement. In a complex statement the prompt changes to ... to indicate it is a continuation. Once the end of the complex statement is detected, it is immediately executed.

You could use parentheses.

num_one = 1

is the same as

num_one = (
1)

or

num_one = (
1
)

Another way would be to escape the line return using \.

num_one = \
1

i got it it was just control enter thank you guys for the help though
