Can someone explain the <span> element for me? This is the 1st time I've noticed it. Curious about it's use when coding.

Interested about the use of the <span> element and what it is used for. Would like to know for future coding projects. New to coding.

The span element is an inline element which can be used similar to a div which is a generic block level element that can be used to contain or nest other elements inside of it. Typical use case scenario of a span element is to pick out individual words from text to style differently.
