1,349 PointsCan anyone help me with this error in the "Exceptions" code challenge?
I am printing out the error message from the exception being thrown using the getMessage(), but the code still complaints. I really don't know where I am doing wrong.
class Example {
public static void main(String[] args) {
GoKart kart = new GoKart("purple");
if (kart.isBatteryEmpty()) {
System.out.println("The battery is empty");
}
try{
kart.drive(42);
}
catch(IllegalArgumentException e){
System.out.println("Error message: "+ e.getMessage());
}
}
}
class GoKart {
public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
private int barCount;
private String color;
private int lapsDriven;
public GoKart(String color) {
this.color = color;
}
public String getColor() {
return color;
}
public void charge() {
barCount = MAX_BARS;
}
public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
return barCount == 0;
}
public boolean isFullyCharged() {
return MAX_BARS == barCount;
}
public void drive() {
drive(1);
}
public void drive(int laps) {
if (laps > barCount) {
throw new IllegalArgumentException("Not enough charge");
}
lapsDriven += laps;
barCount -= laps;
}
}

1,349 PointsFigured it out, by just using System.out.printf("Error is %s", e.getMessage()); kind of weird. I did try this before, but it didn't work then, it's working now, strange but true.

1,349 PointsThat didn't work too. It still complaints- "Make sure you print out the error message to the console using the exception's getMessage method."
