Built_in_function object is not subscriptable. Not sure what this means or how to work through this break/skip

Two options (both failed attempts) are shown in my attached code.

breaks.py 
def loopy(items):
  for i in items:
    if i.index[0] == "a":
      continue

  print(i)

## This is another attempt:
def loopy(items):
  for i in items:
    if index == 0
    and i == "a":
      continue

  print(i)

Your code is very close. For strings and lists, items can be referenced using the slice notation. Also the print statement needs to be indented to be inside the for loop:

def loopy(items):
  for i in items:
    if i[0] == "a":
      continue

    print(i)
