1,149 PointsBug?
The task is to remove the 6th item from the array. it's saying that I'am not removing the correct index number-
// Enter your code below
var arrayOfInts = [1,2,3,4,5,6]
arrayOfInts.append(7)
arrayOfInts = arrayOfInts + [8]
let value = arrayOfInts[4]
arrayOfInts.remove(at: 5)
let discardedValue = arrayOfInts

28,558 PointsThe message is a bit misleading, you are removing the right item, however you are not assigning the right content to the discardedValue
constant. You are supposed to assign the specific item that you just removed, but you are instead assigning the entire list.
The remove
method actually returns the item that is being removed so if you set discardedValue
equal to the call to the remove
method like this:
var arrayOfInts = [1,2,3,4,5,6]
arrayOfInts.append(7)
arrayOfInts = arrayOfInts + [8]
let value = arrayOfInts[4]
let discardedValue = arrayOfInts.remove(at: 5)
Then your code will work.
