You referred to items
instead of item
a couple of times. To help you along conceptually, this is the answer they're looking for.
-elif
only works if there is a preceding if statement. Here's an example:
if item == 'STOP':
break
elif item =='CONTINUE':
continue
else:
#Do this other thing
def loopy(items):
for item in items:
if item == 'STOP':
break
print(item)
