UX Design Techdegree Graduate 30,519 PointsBrand guidelines as design system.
Hi,
Does the Brand section in the video, like colors and heading and font, can be considered a design system?

Treehouse TeacherGreat question! Brand guidelines contain logo guidelines, color palette, typography rules, etc. which are also a part of a design system. But brand guidelines are typically more high-level/general than design systems. Design systems get into the details of a UI, such as buttons, grids, icons, forms, and so on. So use a brand guide for general visual design guidance, and use a design system for more specific directions in terms of UI components, navigation patterns, etc. In this project, I just had a simple set of brand guidelines to build off of, then I leaned on Apple's component library and improvised with the rest of the UI.
