7,263 PointsBest practices for learning, studying and retaining the knowledge learned on Treehouse?
Hey Treehouse Community!
I am am extremely new in my journey to learn coding and in my studies through Treehouse. To this point my method for learning through Treehouse has been following along with the videos and typing the code as the instructor types the code and explains his reasoning for typing the code. I have also made copies of the video transcripts so that I can pause the videos and go over what the instructor says in hopes of grasping and retaining things.
I am not retaining the information nearly to the point that I would like to and was wondering if anyone out there might have some tips, ideas, best practices or hacks that they've found helpful for their studying, learning, and retaining the information gone over on Treehouse? Thanks in advance for your ideas!

14,940 PointsI would start off with watching the Learning How To Learn workshop here on Treehouse. I'm kind of in the same situation as yourself and I'm digging into outside resources while I keep my account here paused. The problem really comes down to not knowing how something works under the hood. You'll never memorize everything, but not knowing how something works is the real problem.
