10,494 PointsBest OS for Web Development? (Linux vs Windows vs MacOS)
I was wondering what the best environment is. I am currently on a Windows desktop I built myself, and I'm wondering if I should install Ubuntu of maybe make it a Hackintosh. Is that gonna help in web development? And what are you using?

13,561 PointsI don't think there is any true answer to that. Most people are going to just tell you the system they most enjoy. I like Linux, so that's usually what I use. But plenty of other people prefer MacOS or Windows. If you presently know Windows, you should probably stick with it, unless you want to spend a fair amount of time learning a new system.
Of course, if you really want to learn Linux or MacOS, then give it a try. Learning a new OS can be a lot of fun.
And for the most part, you can develop on one OS, and then run your web server on a different one. That's very common, actually, and while it can cause a problem in some cases, it usually works fine.
