been taken to Wordpress installation rather than /wp-admin?

Hi,

Within the final steps of the video, Instead of being taken to my webaddress.com/wp-admin. Im taken to a Wordpress installation page, the original setup page I did on local host, for the web address I have chosen.

Could anyone tell me how to make my host connect with the fact that I have already built my site and all files have been transferred properly as far as I can tell.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Stuart,

If I am understanding you correctly. You built the site locally and now are trying to add it to a live domain?

If so you either need to A.) Move the DB to the live site and update your wp-config file to match or B.) import all the data either through the WP import or a 3rd party plugin to migrate the data. DB migrate pro is a good plugin for doing just that.

Otherwise going to a site that is hosting it and telling it to do a WordPress install is setting it up all over again. It does not know that you did it locally and want to use that. As well, any theme files you may or may not have made and uploaded will not know that either.
