4,432 PointsAt what point will I have learned enough to build clients sweet looking websites as a freelancer?
I've only finished the "how to build a basic website" module.
Would it be fair to assume that if I finish both the web development and web design tracks I will have enough of a skill set to offer my services for profit while delivering a desirable product? Are html, css, and javascript enough of an arsenal? Or could I do without the javascript and still offer a desirable product?
For example, If I wanted to build a sweet-looking website for a band and charge for my services?
Thanks...

12,781 PointsDaniel, completing the Web Design track will help you get started on your endeavors. Learning the content isn't enough, however, you need to put the new knowledge to practice. Try looking at companies and businesses in your own community that you think could use some sprucing up. Create a webpage on your own portfolio website dedicated to that business as a sample-it makes for some great practice.
Once you feel you can build a website efficiently and beautifully then you're on your way. It will depend on the clients you take on that will determine what you can or cannot build. You can probably make a page for a small business with contact info, product info, etc. but maybe you can't build a bank website that requires JavaScript and encryption or secured connections to start off so it all just depends on what you're ready to take on. Try starting one for a family member or yourself and see how you do.
Hope this helps.

8,747 PointsDon't do without the JavaScript!
Seriously. You'll need it. That's been my biggest hold-up in finding web design work is that I'm only just learning JavaScript.
