You don't need these two lines:

teachers = { " Jay" , "Dave" , "James"};
teachers= new String [ Jay , Dave , James];

You just have to replace null with {"Jay", "Dave", "James"}.

You were very close, code ends up initializing the array twice, but first one was correct:

public String[] getTeachersAsArrayLiteral() {
    // TODO: Replace null with an array literal that matches the long form above
    String[] teachers = {"Jay", "Dave", "James"};
    return teachers;
  }

public String[] getTeachersAsArrayLiteral() { // TODO: Replace null with an array literal that matches the long form above String[] teachers = null;

teachers = new teachers{ "null", "null", "null"};

return teachers;

}

}

public String[] getTeachersAsArrayLiteral() { // TODO: Replace null with an array literal that matches the long form above String[] teachers = null;

teachers = new String[]{ "null", "null", "null"};

return teachers;

}

}
