It's normal to feel overwhelmed. Like learning a spoken language, the world of computing and coding is very complex. But, believe me, as you continue to learn, you will find some things get easier... more things begin to make sense... and you will start to see how all the little 'parts' make up the whole. One important thing to remember is that you don't need to remember everything. No coder does. That is why the Web is filled with documentation and sites like Stack Overflow.
As for a list of word, I really don't. What I do suggest, and I still do this with new concepts. I go old-school and take many notes. I've got dozens of notebooks filled with definitions, concepts, code snippets, etc.
If the teacher (many do) provide the key terms and the definitions in the Teacher's Notes, I just take a screenshot and save to related folders for course topics.
Everyone learns differently... just find what works best for you. :)
