Any Java/.Net developers out there that recently found employment as a entry level or Junior Developer?

Hello. I live in Cleveland, Ohio (USA). I have 7+ years of Technical Application Support under my belt. Java and .NET are the primary technologies for employment in my city (Cleveland, Ohio - USA). I just started learning Java and will eventually get into .NET. Has anyone out there recently found employment as a entry level or Junior Developer for an employment position in Java/.NET? If so, what advice might you be able to provide to help me with to obtain employment in the future as I become more proficient? Are there other technologies that I should learn along the way with Java and .NET? Thank you!

Hi Lee,

I don't use .NET or Java, my advice is to learn whichever one you go with as well as you can. Keep practicing until you feel comfortable with the syntax. Then start creating small personal projects as they will help you improve (this will be a frustrating process but don't give up).

You will soon notice how your latest projects are better than the first ones you did, which is a great feeling!

The last step is to start creating a couple of bigger projects, and making sure they look great. These projects will be what you show to the employers to prove your skills. You can do this Lee, good luck!
