Java Java Basics Perfecting the Prototype String Equality

Am I missing something in the wording of this problem? Or is it a logic problem?

"Add an if statement that checks to see if firstExample is equal to secondExample. If it is, print out 'first is equal to second'."

I keep messing with this little bit of code and I can't figure out what the question wants.

Equality.java
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";

if (firstExample.equals)(hello)) {
  console.printf("first is equal to second" \n\n);
  System.exit(0);
}

Hey, For task 1 of 2, I see a couple of mistakes. To check to see if strings are the same value use .equals method and you want to test the variables, not the literal string "hello". Also, you need to put your newline character within the quotations. See below

if (firstExample.equals(secondExample)) {
  console.printf("first is equal to second \n\n");

}

Here is how I did task 2 of 2. Notice how I use the equalsIgnoreCase method instead.

if (firstExample.equalsIgnoreCase(thirdExample)){
    console.printf("first and third are the same ignoring case");
}
