So I followed the instructions as told , but then i get an error , any help ?

String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";
if (firstExample.equals(secondExample)) {
console.printf("first is equal to second");

else if (firstExample.equalsIgnoreCase(thirdExample)) {
console.printf("first and third are the same ignoring case");

statement. You have added an else if
statement. Those are not the same thing, else if
statements will only run if the if
statement they are attached to does not run. If you change the else if
to an if
statement like this:
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";
if (firstExample.equals(secondExample)) {
console.printf("first is equal to second");
}
if (firstExample.equalsIgnoreCase(thirdExample)) {
console.printf("first and third are the same ignoring case");
}
Then your code will pass.
