<?php
//edit this array
$contacts = array('Alena Holligan', 'Dave McFarland', 'Treasure Porth', 'Andrew Chalkley');
echo "<ul>\n";
//$contacts[0] will return 'Alena Holligan' in our simple array of names.
echo "<li>Alena Holligan : alena.holligan@teamtreehouse.com</li>\n";
echo "<li>Dave McFarland : dave.mcfarland@teamtreehouse.com</li>\n";
echo "<li>Treasure Porth : treasure.porth@teamtreehouse.com</li>\n";
echo "<li>Andrew Chalkley : andrew.chalkley@teamtreehouse.com</li>\n";
echo "</ul>\n";

2,829 PointsThis question is definitely worded in a way that can definitely be confusing. Basically they have an array of names. The names within this array are referenced with $contacts[0]
. They want you to create a multidimensional array that will eventually hold both the name and email where previously it was just the name. So you would start by replacing each name within the existing array by a new array and placing the data within the new array. Like this:
array(
array('person email and name...'),
array('person email and name...'),
array('person email and name...'),
array('person email and name...')
);
Remember that when assigning a key and value pair within an array you use this syntax:
array('something' => 'somethingelse');
Hope this helps! respond if you have anymore questions. Good luck!
