I'd never heard of API being Advanced Programming Interface, I's always known it as Application Programming Interface. Is the latter more common, maybe something that should be referred to in the course?

Treehouse TeacherAPI is used to mean both Advanced Programming Interface and Application Programming Interface. Advanced Programming Interface, I believe, was the original meaning of API, but Application Programming Interface is now more common. The two mean the same thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/API_(disambiguation)

37,259 PointsThanks Dave, that's what I figured. I've been using APIs for years and never come across the original meaning.
