9,598 PointsAdobe saved the pdf with guidelines.
Adobe saved my pdf with the guidelines even though they were originally hidden. What setting do I change to fix this?

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 11,910 PointsThe guides were just hidden in illustrator not deleted. They will appear in the generated PDF file. If you don't want them, you must first delete them before exporting it to PDF.

19,201 PointsThat's very interesting, can't say that I've ever had guides appear in my PDF. Are these guides visible when opening the pdf in illustrator or a pdf viewer if you don't mind me asking?

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 11,910 PointsThe trick is to temporarily convert the layers you don't want to appear to Template layers, rather than hide them.
From the Layers palette, select the appropriate layers, and from the flyout menu select "Template". Unless it has changed since CS2...
Template layers will not be included in PDFs, neither will they print.

19,201 PointsMust have changed since then, I leave my guides on all my work but have never seen them appear on my pdf's or printed work. I tried to replicate the problem out of curiosity on Illustrator CC 2015 and was not able to replicate Byron's problem. Anyway thanks for elaborating.

17,367 PointsGood suggestions everyone. Or you can just temporarily change the opacity to 0% (go to Window -> Transparency for Mac). This worked for me.
Just to be clear - these are rectangles we drew as "guides" that are showing up when you open the PDF. Hiding the layer/s in Illustrator doesn't keep them hidden when you open the PDF. I'm using Illustrator CC 2017.

19,201 PointsAre they guidelines you added or are they trim/bleed marks? If they're trim/bleed marks you can turn them off when you save the pdf under "Marks and Bleeds" located on the left sidebar.

24,269 PointsI had the same problem. Looks like she deleted the guides after she was done making everything.
