28,149 PointsFor a code editor, I use to use dreamweaver but now I use Sublime Text. I enjoy Sublime more.
For wireframes and SVG creation I use Illustrator, and I might screw with colors in Photoshop, but a lot of my design now is just done in the browser.

Courses Plus Student 53,747 PointsI recommend Sketch to replace Fireworks towards building interfaces.
I highly recommend adopting rapid prototyping practices to negate the use of either towards making websites.

28,149 PointsYep Jonathan Grieve Adobe has "feature-froze" Fireworks after CS6. They are no longer actively developing anything for it. They claim they'll do small patches to keep it up to date with OS requirements. We'll see how long it survives, but with Adobe moving their attention away from it, it'll be dying.
Kinda sad too, I actually like what Fireworks could do.
