4,149 PointsAdding male/female differentiation to TreeStory.java
Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to print a specific line depending on the gender the user is entering.
For example, when the system will ask "What is your gender?" the last console print would change depending on the user's answer - console.printf("They are always %s %s.\n", adverb, verb);
So if I enter "male", it would print console.printf("He is always %s %s.\n", adverb, verb); and if I enter "female" it would print console.printf("She is always %s %s.\n", adverb, verb);
I hope the question is clear enough. Hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Oz

29,567 PointsYou could do something like:
String userInput = Console.readLine("Are you male or female?");
if(userInput.equalsIgnoreCase("male"){
// print this line of code
}
else{
// print this line of code instead
}

28,694 PointsIf you can capture the gender as a string, the use a condition in conjunction with the string classes .equals method. (or do i misunderstand the question?)
