I want to know why 940, why not another value???? What does that 940 stands for????

16,936 Pointsit's just a number that has become a standard for grid systems such as the 960 grid or any other 12 column grid system.
940px leaves space for a 10px padding on left and right side of the body.

6,239 PointsI think it is completely up to you to decide a break point. I suggest you to resize your window and when your layout starts break that is is exact breakpoint you can choose :)
