You have two return statements inside your function without providing a way around the first one to get to the second. As a result your function will always return false
. You can get around that by doing:
public boolean hasTile(char tile) {
if (mHand.indexOf(tile) >= 0) {
return true;
} else {
return false;
}
}
With that if statement it will allow one of the two boolean options to be returned.
You can also simplifying the hasTile()
method a bit and do something like:
public boolean hasTile(char tile) {
return mHand.indexOf(tile) >=0;
}
You had the correct idea in your code, just needed a few minor syntax adjustments.
