problem aligning the label and the input elements in online registration project

in the media query section , I am having a problem aligning the label and the input elements.floating the input element to the right and the label to the left makes the label appear a little bit higher than the input element and applying a top margin value to the label affects both the label and the input element . Please advice

vertical align didnt work, i tried top,middle , bottom, no joy. what i discovered today that works is to experiment with top padddig of one of the elements till they seem to align
