Treehouse ModeratorHi, I am Mel! My favorite time to code is and day of the week ending in "day" at any time. I feel like wanting to learn something new doesn't have a schedule!
Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn I love meeting new people!
I've been recently working on stepping up my Python Development game with Data Analysis and working with APIs! I am taking it one day at a time and enjoying every minute of the learning process!
My hobbies and interests outside of coding include anything nerdy such as Star Trek, D&D, and board games, but I also enjoy getting outside and hitting the trails with my partner and our furbaby Max,
Great to meet you all! ^-^

Courses Plus Student 23,765 PointsWell, definitely not the best, but the usual time that I am able to sit and code is after 8-9 p.m in which I usually dedicate 20-25 minutes daily to fully immerse in it
Hi Team of fellow learners, My favorite snack ever is actually croissant + some malt extract, I love the way croissants mix with the malt extract , giving me energy to concentrate during my learning time-slots.

Right now , I have recently fjnished the python basics course on Treehouse and started with introduction to lists on python., so that I get another shot at Python and learning more about it, since it is very much compatible with my Ubuntu Linux OS

Courses Plus Student 23,765 PointsSean Josefosky Thank you for your support, you know, slow and steady wins the race, I try to distribute my day among working at my job, reading some and well, working either on the projects for practice and also on using treehouse. I got a link similar to that of minish cap on my left hand, long live the tri-force

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 29,423 PointsG'day everyone, Chris here.
I'm completing my front end tech degree while working, so you'll generally find me working on projects and course material from about 4:30am until 7:30am, and then after 5:00pm. Gotta keep those wheels turning. I'm fueled by caffeine.
I'm currently on Unit 9, and should be working on building my portfolio - but I've been a bit sidetracked lately. I'm trying to put some of my recent skills to the test, pulling data from the Australian (Queensland) wildlife data api to create a little educational webapp for my nephew. Kids love koalas.
So far it has been a fun little exercise in not only refining my knowledge in working with APIs, but also in how to design for a child audience. There's lots of great literature out there on designing for usability for kids (little fella is 7), so it's a fun journey at the moment.
All the best to everyone starting the front end journey - it's fun!

4,164 PointsHey Chris,
I put off learning front end for so long because I thought it wasn't "cool" and wouldn't let me do what I wanted to do. After being halfway through the course on here, I haven't wanted to stop at all (which I usually do with my passions :p).
However, I haven't had the itch to learn on here much the last 2 days so I looked into game dev with front end. It's really cool and makes me think more than just using Unity, etc!
I just got started with the JS portion of the course. You mentioning APIs makes me nervous because I honestly have no idea what that is lol, but I'm excited!

4,164 PointsHello my name is Sean, I work in the pharmaceutical industry, and I'm learning to become a front end dev. (don't tell my boss!) I code when I can at work, after work, and basically all day on weekends. I'm currently halfway through the Front End Web Dev course and I am very excited about learning more every day. Recently I've dabbled in game design on the web and I have an idea that I'm actually going to begin after typing this.
Outside of coding and work I produce music (hip hop or metal, not really an in between lol), and play video games like:
- Minecraft
- Battlefield
- Dark Souls
- Any survival game
- Any idle/clicker game
Very excited to be here!
Sean

1,784 PointsHello everyone, I would like to share my experience with one of the workshops on "CODA", which I found extremely interesting, and it is a tool that should completely change the concept of documents and documentation ... I leave the link, (https://teamtreehouse.com/library/introducing-coda) why really worth seeing; ah !! by the way it has an incredible discount of $ usd 120, which is the "pro" student for one year. see it you will not regret it ... a hug to all treehouse addicts

10,684 PointsHi all! I have been learning stuff through Treehouse on and off for the last few years (shockingly long) and am now getting serious about finishing my Techdegree FS JavaScript. I have been building websites for fun since 1998 (at least) but come on: I gotta be more professional now, right?
Find me on LinkedIn and feel free to connect. I may be in Amsterdam, but you never know how connections work. I have a pretty international, if small, network.
The latest non-treehouse thing I added to my github was a BMI calculator I made for my personal trainer. He is actually great at math, I don't think he realises this. Now I know BMI is controversial, but it is a good starting point to look at how your body is built up. And that is quite a neutral way of looking at it.
I have always had nerdy hobbies and interests and that surprises people. "Closet nerd" is what I've been called. I love reading, watching films, learning new things. Currently reading Troy by Stephen Fry, still have the latest Bill & Ted film on my to watch list (nostalgia, it's been so long ...) and I am also learning Japanese at the moment. I play D&D, share a love of Star Trek with my partner and we share our home with our 3 pets - two cats and a chihuahua.
Hope you are all enjoying your days as much as I am. If not: good times are ahead!
