switch statements
<?php
//Available roles: admin, editor, author, subscriber
if (!isset($role)) {
$role = 'subscriber';
}
//change to switch statement
switch($role != 'admin'){
case"admin":
default:
echo "You do not have access to this page. Please contact your administrator.";
case"admin":
echo"As an admin, you can add, edit, or delete any post.";
break;
}

14,583 PointsThere are a few problems here. I would recommend reviewing the syntax for a switch statement. Here's a good resource: http://php.net/manual/en/control-structures.switch.php . For one, the expression for your switch statement is going to result in true or false, rather than a variable that the role values can be compared with. Also, you have your "case 'admin'" on there twice.
