Ensure your format string contains the required text `"First name:"

String firstName = console.readLine("what is your name?" ); String lastName = console.readLine("what is your last name?" ); console.printf("Hello my name is %s",firstName); console.printf("%s is learning how to write Java",firstName);

IO.java
// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
String firstName = console.readLine("what is your name?"  );
String lastName = console.readLine("what is your last name?"  );
console.printf("Hello my name is %s",firstName);
console.printf("%s is learning how to write Java",firstName);

You have to print out the exact message the instructions specify. The instructions ask you to type out "First name: " followed by the name, so that's the message you have to use. Like this:

String firstName = console.readLine("what is your name?"  );
String lastName = console.readLine("what is your last name?"  );
console.printf("First name: %s",firstName);
