When it comes to mind mapping,
0:00
I simply wanna use basic printer paper and
any typical writing utensil.
0:01
Nothing fancy here.
0:06
No super crazy application needed.
0:07
Just some paper and a pen.

Our main objective with this step of mind
mapping, is to collect our thoughts and
0:10
generate ideas.
0:15
Here's how it works.
0:17
We start off with our base word.
0:18
In our case, it would be task.
0:20
Then from there, we want to attach words
that are related.
0:23
This could be ideas or concepts of that
base word.
0:27
Then, we just wanna branch out word by
word.
0:31
Moving further away from the original
word.
0:34
Which in our case is task.
0:37
Once, I'm finished with the mind map for
0:39
the word task, I'm going to do another one
for the word manager.
0:41
After about 25 minutes or so of creating
mind maps,
0:44
you will see your ideas starting to form
and change just a little bit.
0:47
With my two mind maps formed,
0:51
it's not time to pick out the words that
speak to us the most.
0:53
And then highlight them.
0:56
We're now ready to turn these words into
graphical metaphors.
0:58
It's time, for the sketching phase
