Add Columns and Create Hyperlinks

In this video, we're going to add some functionality to our Learning Plan table. 0:00 We'll be adding a new column with links that let you easily access all your 0:06 notes and resources in My Binders. 0:10 This exercise also gives you a good opportunity to review some of the concepts 0:13 introduced in the first workshop, like tables, columns, and data types. 0:17 First, we'll create a new text column where we can add links. 0:21 To do this hover to the right of the Learning Plan 0:26 table until you see the plus (+) sign. 0:29 Click the plus to add a new column to this table and 0:31 leave it as the default text type, indicated by a T icon. 0:35 Now double click the column name and rename it Binder. 0:40 Click inside the Binder cell in the top row corresponding to Python Basics, 0:46 and type the at (@) sign then Python and select the Python Basics page. 0:54 All right, now click on the Python Basics binder link to try it out, good. 1:01 One nice feature about this workbook is that it comes with page templates, 1:12 so you can easily add new binders for each new lesson. 1:17 Using Coda's Duplicate Page button, 1:21 you can create all the assets you need at the click of a button. 1:24 Select the My Binders page from the side navigation menu, 1:28 enter a new binder name like JavaScript Basics, and 1:33 click on the Create a new binder button to create a new binder. 1:38 The new binder gets created here within My Binders, and 1:44 notice how the notes and resource links are duplicated for you. 1:48 Finally, I'll add a link to the JavaScript Basics binder from 1:55 the Learning Plan table as I did before. 1:59 Next, I'll show you how you can customize how your data is presented. 2:12
