Hi there, my name is Megan, and
0:09
I'm going to walk you through using
Google Slides to create presentations.
0:11
Let's get started, and please,
feel free to follow along.
0:17
There are two ways to create
a new Google Slides presentation.
0:21
The first is to go to slides.google.com,
and click on the + symbol.
0:25
The second is to go to your
Google Drive at drive google.com,
0:32
and click on New > Google Slides.
0:38
Now that you've created a blank
presentation, I like to make sure,
0:44
and change the name of the presentation,
so it's easier to find later.
0:48
You can change the name of your
presentation here in the top left corner.
0:54
Next, let's jump into choosing
a template for the presentation.
1:00
When you create a new presentation,
the themes sidebar will be visible.
1:04
You can scroll through and select
a template that fits your audience, and
1:10
the type of presentation you are creating.
1:14
You can also import a theme yourself.
1:16
If you ever need to change the theme,
1:24
you can go to Slide > Change
theme to bring the sidebar back.
1:27
With a theme chosen,
let's switch gears, and
1:35
talk about the different
types of slides available.
1:38
Each type of slide has its own designed
to help highlight your information.
1:41
The slide options include, Title slide.
1:46
Section header.
1:54
Title and body.
1:59
Title and two columns.
2:02
Title only.
2:07
One column text.
2:11
Main point.
2:14
Section title and description.
2:18
Caption.
2:23
Big number.
2:26
And there's also a blank slide option, so
2:28
you can create a slide to
fit your presentation needs.
2:31
Now that you know the basics of
how to create a new presentation,
2:36
choose a theme, and
what slides are available.
2:39
Let's jump into learning
more about the tools that
2:43
you can use to edit your presentation,
and fill it with content and visuals.
2:46
See you in the next video.
