So, next, we're gonna do something
a little different rather than just typing
0:00
and drawing our section.
0:04
We're going to use this rectangle
as the container for our type.
0:06
And it's handy because we've
already lined everything up, so
0:12
we know that it's in the correct place.
0:15
When the icon changes to have a dotted
circle around your cursor click here.
0:18
And so now you can see that we've changed
this rectangle shape to a container
0:25
for our type.
0:29
This is gonna be body text that
talks about different events
0:31
pertaining to this image on the right.
0:37
For body text designers often use whatβs
called Lorem Ipsum, which is a Latin text.
0:39
And itβs just dummy text.
0:45
So Iβm gonna hop over to
the Inter Web really fast.
0:47
And there are a lot of
Lorem Ipsum generators so
0:53
this one is not necessarily the best.
0:57
I'm just gonna hop down here.
0:59
I really don't need very much.
1:01
One paragraph will generate.
1:03
Give me some Latin text please.
1:07
And now I'm gonna, [SOUND] that's enough.
1:10
So I'll do Cmd+C to copy,
to put that in my clipboard.
1:14
Back into Illustrator.
1:20
Make sure that this is selected and
hit Cmd+V.
1:22
And we can see that this is gigantic.
1:25
So I'm gonna do select all,
command A to select all that text.
1:30
This will be body text, so
I don't want it to be bold.
1:36
And I'm gonna make it
a more reasonable size, 14.
1:40
And this looks itty-bitty, but we're also
scaled right now, as you can see, at 33%.
1:45
So let's scale up so
we have a better idea,
1:51
I'm just zooming in, of what we're doing.
1:55
Now we're at 100%.
2:00
It doesn't seem so ridiculous.
2:02
I think this size is good, but
2:04
what I wanna do is add more
space in between the lines.
2:06
To do this, we're gonna go to Window.
2:10
Window > Type > Character, and it's Cmd+T
if you just wanna open it up like that.
2:18
And now with our text selected, I want
to increase the space between the lines,
2:25
which is right here.
2:30
This is your letting, is what it's called.
2:31
So we are gonna change this.
2:33
I'll do 24, since the type itself is 14,
so put about 10 points between each line.
2:38
I think that's much more readable and
nicer, also rather than having it black,
2:44
I will choose a gray.
2:49
Right above this I would
like to have a larger title
2:53
which will be heading three.
2:58
So it'll be smaller than heading
two which is at 50 points.
3:03
So I will make this one 36.
3:07
And also bold.
3:13
I'm gonna zoom out just to kinda, okay.
3:18
Yeah, and that looks nice.
3:22
I feel like this is a little too dark.
3:25
Let's go one shade lighter.
3:29
Okay, much nicer.
3:31
And so now I am going to select this box.
3:37
Click inside.
3:43
Cmd+A to select all.
3:45
Cmd+C.
3:48
I am gonna hold down command and
click off to deselect that box.
3:48
And then with the type tool still selected
I'm going to click on this square.
3:55
Make it a container, Cmd+V.
4:02
Command click off, and
zoom out a little bit.
4:09
And here we go.
4:17
We have added text into our wireframe.
